A tiny snippet of history and Industry in North Wales. The Workshop will begin at the historic Basingwerth Abbey, built in 1131, the glorious remains of the Cistercian Abbey still remain today and offer a chance to experiment with creativity and atmosphere.
There is so much scope to experiment with composition and detail. Students are encourage to really connect with these wonderful ruins, experiment with their own technical knowledge and creativity.

Then a short walk leads onto the historic ruins of a Copper factory... A wonderful and well hidden find. The whole area has several historic Industrial sites...including the ruins of a cotton Mill. Perfect for photographing, the remains offer a really interesting subject matter to photograph.

After Lunch, the group will head over to photograph the amazing and rather rusty 'Duke of Lancaster' a sealink passenger ship, now affectionately known as the 'Fun ship'. The ever ageing ship tells a different story, it was once going to be used as a leisure and retail complex but after plans didn't go ahead, the 'Duke of Lancaster' has simply been left abandoned, its rusty exterior is now used as a canvas for street artists.
Although the general public cant gain access, we can get very close to this magnificent passenger ship! Time to get creative!
